Danish convenience
As a producer of Danish foods suitable for further processing, DanRoots has gone one step further and can also offer a smaller range of lightly processed carrots in the form of chunks or sliced/shredded carrots. By producing the convenience products in-house, the company ensures that all raw materials are utilized in the best possible way and that there is a short path from production to delivery, as all processes take place without intermediaries.
Chunks are peeled carrots that are cut into suitable pieces after the peeling process. Carrot pieces are popular in commercial kitchens as they are easy to use in cooking. Chunks are also the base for the chopped carrots.
Chunks and shredded carrots are mainly produced from discarded oversizes and carrots with minor surface damage. Peeling leaves the carrots nice and clean and the cutting process can be completed regardless of the size of the peeled carrot.
All processing operations take place in a newly built conveninece department that is subject to strict IFS requirements in terms of hygiene, quality and employee training. The IFS certification also proves that the supply chain and traceability are under control.

Many ways to cook
Convenience products are ideal when you need to move a little faster in the kitchen – whether at home in your own kitchen or working in a larger kitchen. Choosing peeled carrots or carrot chunks saves a lot of time in the kitchen and can easily be used for other tasks.
Shredded carrots not only save time, but are also great and easy to use in baked goods and salads. In addition, the shreds have a unique texture and thickness that is completely different to grating them on a grater.
We always recommend that root vegetables are washed well before cooking to avoid soil bacteria in the kitchen.
